The Colonel Tew Stern Line
The Colonel Tew Stern Line gets its name from Colonel Charles Courtenay Tew. Tew was born in Charleston, SC in 1827. He was one of 20 cadets admitted into the South Carolina Military Academy, known today as The Citadel. He was the first graduate and honor graduate of The Citadel. He would later move to North Carolina and founded the Hillsboro Military Academy in 1859. He went on to lead the 2nd North Carolina Infantry at the Battle of Antietam where he was mortally wounded.
This Stern Line is made to honor Colonel Tew and to make the connection between The Citadel and North Carolina. Featuring sky blue, white, and navy blue, this Stern Line is made to wear out on gamedays.
Each of our nautical sunglass straps are made using high quality flat braided polypropylene rope, branded silicone end pieces, fine laser engraved leather, and solid brass rivets. Every single one is hand crafted in Charleston and made to withstand the elements. Our sunglass straps are machine washable and dryable. They air dry very quickly as well.
